令和５年8月8日にハワイ州マウイ島で発生した大規模な山火事により、特に島西部のラハイナは甚大な被害を受けました。お亡くなりになられた方々へ謹んで哀悼の意を表しますとともに、ご関係の皆様、そして延焼により本堂などを失った開教寺院であるラハイナ浄土院ならびに檀信徒の皆様に心からお見舞いを申しあげます。

　ご当地、そしてラハイナ浄土院の一日も早い復旧・復興をお祈り申しあげます。

 Sympathy for the devastating fire in Maui, Hawaii, U.S.A.

　On August 8, 2023, a massive wildfire broke out on the island of Maui, Hawaii, causing extensive damage especially in Lahaina. We would like to express our deepest condolences to those who lost their lives, and our deepest sympathy to everyone involved, as well as to the Lahaina Jodo Mission and its parishioners who lost their main building and other facilities due to the spread of the fire.

　We pray for the earliest possible restoration and recovery of the area and Lahaina Jodoin.
